NY NEW LEBANON — New Lebanon Town Board backs temporary securing of unsafe building near school. The board voted 4 to 1 to authorize boarding up and temporary fencing at the Munch property, owned by Fred Munch Jr. and abutting Walter B. Howard Elementary School, pending Supervisor Colleen Teal's investigation of the owner's tax arrears and county foreclosure prospects.
Code Enforcement Officer Hazel "Cissy" Hernandez had documented a collapsed porch and unsafe structure via photographs submitted to the board. In separate business, the board unanimously approved purchase of a 2018 International truck for $207,950 to replace one totaled in March's Storm Stella, funded by insurance proceeds and highway surplus.
