NY NEW LEBANON — Town Board advances Covenant Circle road petition to public hearing. The board voted 3-1 on April 22 to accept a petition from Covenant Circle residents requesting the private road be adopted as a town road with up to $100,000 in improvements, with Councilmember Bruce Baldwin dissenting on concerns the estimate is unrealistically low. Supervisor Michael Benson, Councilmember Dan Evans, and Councilmember Chuck Geraldi voted in favor.
A public hearing is scheduled for May 13, after which, if the board proceeds and engineering estimates exceed $100,000, a second hearing will be held and Covenant Circle residents may petition for a vote on the higher cost.
