NY NEW LEBANON — New Lebanon Town Board rescinds highway superintendent's fire claim authority. Supervisor Tistrya Houghtling moved to rescind a February 4 delegation that had given Highway Superintendent McCagg authority to independently manage the highway garage fire insurance claim and related repairs. The board voted unanimously to take back control and require the superintendent to obtain board approval for future contracts, work authorization, and insurance decisions.
Councilmembers Joanne Amlaw and Steve Powers, who met with McCagg beforehand, will coordinate communication between the board, the insurance company, and the superintendent going forward.
