NY NEW LEBANON — New Lebanon Board hears public comment on garbage container placement rules. Supervisor Tistrya Houghtling presented a proposed amendment to Chapter 170 requiring refuse containers to not obstruct traffic and be placed no earlier than noon the day before collection and removed by noon the day after. Violations would face a fine of no more than $100, designed to facilitate safe snow removal and road maintenance.
Public comment was split; some residents opposed the measure as unnecessary while others supported it as addressing a real concern. The hearing closed unanimously without a vote on the ordinance's adoption.
