NY NEW LEBANON — Town Board terminates controversial sidewalk project with state waiver request. Following years of sustained public opposition to the Route 22 sidewalk project initiated in 2013, Supervisor Colleen Teal submitted a formal request to the state for a no-build determination and waiver of previously expended funds in September 2017. The board voted unanimously to support the request.
In related action, the board unanimously increased Recreation Commission membership from five to seven members and approved purchases including a $124 security lock system for the Little League snack shack and a $2,567 bid for highway garage overhead door work.
