Town Board approves highway truck purchase, puts supervisor term to voters

NY NEW LEBANON — Town Board approves new highway truck, extends supervisor term to November voters. The board accepted a $120,197 purchase order from Marchese Ford for a new highway dump truck financed through $50,000 in budgeted funds, $26,500 in capital reserves, and approximately $45,000 in new debt; Supervisor Colleen Teal noted current highway debt service runs about $39,000 annually. The board voted 4-1 to extend the Town Supervisor's term from two to four years and placed it before voters November 5, 2019, with three companion local laws extending terms for Town Clerk, Tax Collector, and Highway Superintendent to four years effective January 1, 2020.
A public hearing on the local laws is set for May 14.
