NY NEW LEBANON — Town Board approves fuel tank relocation in split 2-2 vote. The Board unanimously authorized competitive bidding for an estimated $8,000 to $10,000 project to relocate the Highway Department's fuel storage outside to comply with PESH safety violations, with Town Engineer Paul McCreary developing specifications by September 10. However, Supervisor Colleen Teal and Councilmember Mark Baumli's 2-2 split vote failed to accept a free 1,000-gallon tank offered by John Ray & Sons, with Councilmembers Kevin Smith Sr. and Jesse Newton pressing for competitive pricing on comparable tanks.

Highway Superintendent Jeff Winestock strongly opposed the relocation. The Board also rescinded its Planning Board vacancy posting after an executive session.
