NY NEW LEBANON — The New Lebanon Town Board adopted amended personnel policies in a contested 3-2 vote, establishing new benefits for part-time employees effective January 1, 2019. Supervisor Colleen Teal and Councilmembers Norman Rasmussen and Mark Baumli voted yes; Councilmembers Kevin Smith Sr. and Jesse Newton voted no, citing concerns about excessive benefits expenditure. The amendments created part-time eligible and part-time ineligible classifications and made part-time eligible employees working 20-34 hours weekly eligible for health insurance with the town paying 40 percent of the employee-only premium.

The board unanimously adopted Resolution 26 establishing a comprehensive compensation plan with grade levels and starting rates for town positions, with Supervisor, Judges, and Tax Collector positions marked "to be determined" pending future review.
