NY NEW LEBANON — The Shaker Preservation Committee advanced demolition protections and approved new permitted uses in historic zones. Chair Winfried Fuchshofen led committee members Rae Gilson and John Dax through proposed amendments to the town's demolition permit regulations, including changes to what constitutes substantial alteration and a retitling of Section 81-4. The committee unanimously approved the minutes of its December meeting and approved the addition of art galleries in the red and green zones of the historic district.
Susan Tipograph was appointed as the Town Board liaison to the committee. The group aims to complete its preservation proposal by the end of April or early May.
