NY NEW LEBANON — Planning Board holds public hearing on Tilden Project's mixed-use development at 538 US 20. The June 4 hearing drew roughly 30 speakers with mixed views on the special permit and SEQRA review, with Chairperson Elizabeth Brutsch leading seven board members present. The majority of speakers supported the project, citing community needs for affordable housing and workforce housing, while others raised environmental concerns about water quality and groundwater.
Applicant Joshua Young responded to public comments, assuring attendees that engineers had reviewed all documentation and he would address outstanding questions. The board voted unanimously to open and close the hearing but took no action on the application.
