NY NEW LEBANON — New Lebanon conservation board advances scenic resources survey and mapping plan. The Conservation Advisory Council will conduct a comprehensive scenic inventory by surveying western town viewsheds omitted from the 2017 Natural Resource Conservation Plan, with David Farren and Steve Powers assigned to the work. Council members identified potential Critical Environmental Areas including cool ravines on Pool Hill Road, unfragmented forests, and riparian corridors with ancient forest patches.
They also reviewed a raptor presentation by the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum's Michael Clough at a Summer Recreation Program event in Shatford Park on August 2.
