Board authorizes $302K mower purchase following highway fire

NY NEW LEBANON — New Lebanon Town Board authorizes major mower purchase from highway fire insurance proceeds. Supervisor Tistrya Houghtling and the four-member council unanimously approved the MowerMax equipment purchase from ATMAX Equipment Co. for $302,268.51, to be paid from $935,901 in total insurance proceeds and auction revenue from a January 2026 highway garage fire. The Highway Superintendent expects to allocate additional remaining proceeds toward a dump truck, rollback, compactor, and small tractor totaling approximately $300,000.
In related business, the board unanimously approved amendments to Highway 284 to add Hand Hill Road (0.28 miles) and Avery Hand Lane (0.31 miles) for double chip seal treatment.
