Board Approves $200,000 Interfund Loan for Highway Garage Fire Repairs

NY NEW LEBANON — New Lebanon Town Board authorizes $200,000 interfund loan for highway fire repairs. Supervisor Tistrya Houghtling brought Resolution #15, which the board unanimously approved, authorizing a temporary transfer from the highway insurance fund to the general fund for immediate fire-damage repairs at the highway garage, with repayment required by December 31, 2026. Highway Superintendent McCagg expects temporary work completion within two weeks.
The board approved Budget Amendment #8 reallocating $917,400 in highway insurance proceeds for fire-damaged equipment and voted to increase the town accountant's wage from $1,250 to $1,850 monthly, with Councilmember Joanne Amlaw dissenting. The board adopted Local Law No. 2 of 2026 repealing NY Stretch, which had sunset from state building code January 1.
